TASK: Get casual learners excited about the physics underpinning rocket engine efficiency.

APPROACH: Leverage unique and visually compelling storytelling. Fortunately, Chris Hadfield—former commander of the International Space Station—is a remarkable storyteller with a seemingly infinite well of subject matter to draw from. For Hadfield’s MasterClass on Space Exploration, the goal was to teach people how space travel works. To get there, we tapped into learners’ sense of wonder and consistently returned to the question:

“What’s it like to go to space?” 

Then, of course, delivered the physics.
